Tirza Schaefer Author & Goddess Coach, Founder of Goddess Reiki: tirzaschaefer.com

I thought for my very first post here, I should introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me.

My name is Tirza Schaefer (for real, not a pen name), author of 30 books, mainly steamy romance, but also of a variety of spiritual subjects. I love both aspects of my work and both cross over into each other at times as well.

From childhood, I have been a fan of fictional characters who were heroic, chivalrous and loyal. I loved those who were warriors of a kind, not easily subdued but fought for justice and treated others with kindness. They would not shirk self-imposed responsibility and thus, as I grew into adulthood, I wrote, read and watched many romance stories. It took a long time for me to come out of the closet, but in 2015, I published my first books and, notwithstanding the fact that I lost almost two years to health issues, I have now published 30 books of which one anthology that was compiled together with some other authors has been unpublished again. …

This power animal was chosen by my daughter Tarini who is a natural at picking out cards or other messengers for herself as well as others. As she was lying beside me, reading a book, I asked her to close her eyes and tell me which animal she sees first. She did as much and with a big smirk on her face, said, “Bear. He’s so cute!”

She repeated this when she helped me choose the perfect Bear picture for this page after I’d received the message from Bear. Thus, this animal message centres around the theme of caring. …

The Antelope lives in herds and can be found in African and Eurasia. It is a bovine species, meaning it belongs to the family of Bovidae, but appears a lot more deer-like than the others, which are cattle, buffalo, bison and yak, sheep and goats. Antelopes don’t only live in herds for safety in numbers, but they also instinctively rely on each other. When one Antelope senses danger, the entire herd moves as one and takes flight.

In Ancient Egyptian mythology, we find an Antelope Goddess called Satis, but also known as Anuket and other names. She was a protector in war, also reigned over hunting and fertility and came to symbolise the annual flooding of the Nile which was celebrated by throwing gifts of grain and precious jewellery into the waters to ensure that the inundation would bring fertile red soil and ensure a rich harvest. …

Goddesses by Tirza Schaefer

Working with Goddess archetypes are my love and my passion. I also weave these themes into my fictional work, although you wouldn’t know if you aren’t looking. The exception being Snake Goddess Rising, my very first romance novel that is set in India and pays homage to my love of cobras (my second power animal besides Jaguar and Wolf), the Divine Feminine and Bollywood movies with Sharukh Khan. Yes, I am that much of a kitschy romance lover and I am not ashamed of it, either.

Brigid, the Irish Goddess of inspiration, creation and flowing waters was the second Goddess I wrote about. The first was the Egyptian Lion Goddess Tefnut whose name means moisture or saliva. So here is my article on Brigid that has both historical facts and spiritual insights in it. If you’d like to meditate with this particular Goddess and awaken her archetypal energies within you, if they have thus far lain dormant or been blocked, this article may help you to connect with Her. …
