Tirza Schaefer Author & Goddess Coach, Founder of Goddess Reiki: tirzaschaefer.com

I thought for my very first post here, I should introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me.

My name is Tirza Schaefer (for real, not a pen name), author of 30 books, mainly steamy romance, but also of a variety of spiritual subjects. I love both aspects of my work and both cross over into each other at times as well.

From childhood, I have been a fan of fictional characters who were heroic, chivalrous and loyal. I loved those who were warriors of a kind, not easily subdued but fought for justice and treated others with…

Dating A Hero was an experiment in style. It is the first and, thus far, the only book, I wrote in the first person solely from the point of view of the female protagonist whilst speaking of her male counterpart in the second person. Not once are names mentioned, either in direct or indirect speech. Still, it worked. At least for me. The readers need to decide for themselves on whether this little bit of unsolved mystery is to their liking.

My idea was to write it in a way that you wouldn’t even notice that names were missing while…

One day, while I was visiting a close friend in the UK and during one of our chats, she told me about what happened to a friend of hers. At the time, said friend lived in an apartment in a council estate in London, UK, and the family was sitting on the balcony overlooking the rather large inner courtyard of the complex when suddenly there was some noise overhead. Looking up, they saw a helicopter from the Royal Navy and them some men repelled out of it in full armour. Apparently, it was a training exercise.

This story didn’t leave…

Peace on Earth

Wohpe is the Lakota Goddess of peace. Her name means meteor and she is associated with falling stars. When such an event takes place, it is a sign of her coming down to the earth from the heavens. She is the daughter of the Sungod Wi and the Moongoddess Hanwi and her themes are fulfilling wishes, peace, beauty, pleasure and cycles, as well as time and meditation. Her other symbols are sweetgrass and the peace pipe which, according to mythology, she brought to humanity.

She was later associated and fused with the Goddess White Buffalo Calf Woman whose mythological story…

Birthday Present was my third erotic romance novel, but it was also the first featuring a US Marine officer as hero. As this was the birth of my US military hero books, it was only fitting to centre it around a birthday. The hero’s birthday. His name is Hunter Santiago and he is a sexy as hell warrior whom Chahna Seaver falls for head over heels. She is trying to remain a good girl — at least for a couple of hours — but, let’s face it, which woman could resist so much bundled Marine charm? …

Abundance & Gratitude

Buffalo symbolizes positive abundance and deep gratitude. An abundant and easy flow in life cannot occur without deep gratitude. In Native American cultures, the buffalo was the bringer of meat, hides, bones and warmth throughout cold winters. Taking its skin and thick wool as blankets and walls for tipis was especially warming on a full belly. The bones were made into tools and instruments with which work, entertainment and spiritual ceremonies were conducted.

Buffalo signifies gratitude for all you have and which of your desires you are yet to manifest. A heart filled with gratitude is sure to receive and…

Sin, Punishment, Repentance & Reward

Meretseger is an Ancient Egyptian Cobra Goddess whom I first came across in the Stone of Light fictional series by Christian Jacq, which centres around a village of master craftsmen who are in charge of the work building the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. The wife of the chief master craftsman is a high priestess and a familiar of the Goddess.

As I have always felt an affinity to snakes, namely, Cobra who is one of my power animals, I was fascinated. In fact, the novels of Christian Jacq were the beginning of a conscious, profound and henceforth…

I love Jane Austen! In 1995, someone gave me the book “Pride & Prejudice” and it has been my favourite book ever since. I didn’t go to university, I rang in sick at work. I read and I read and I read! A week or two afterwards, I switched on the TV after coming home from town and what did I see? A trailer on BBC (I used to live in London, UK, at the time), advertising that Pride & Prejudice would be aired in four parts as of a couple of days later.

I called work and told them…

Snakes hold a special status in religion and spirituality the world over. One of the most (in)famous ones of those is the Cobra, of which there are several types. I have already written on two Egyptian Cobra Goddesses, Meretseger and Wadjet, and one Hindu one, Manasa. Cobra is one of my Power Animals that I am strongly connected to. She joined me in my early twenties after I already had Jaguar as my companion since childhood.

In my youth, I went through a phase of suppressing my psychic abilities in order to “fit in” with a very secular family and…

Remover of Poison

Manasa is a Cobra Goddess and thus connected to the animal kingdom of snakes, especially to Cobras. She was first mentioned in the Ancient Hindu scriptures, especially in the Rig Veda. She was first accepted as a tribal Goddess who was very generous towards her devotees, but also very harsh against those who do not worship her. She is the Goddess of poison and venom, the healer, as well as the killer.

There are many depictions of her that have been found in the Bengali area from where she originates that date as far back as the fourth century of…
